Conventional thermometers measure the temperature by means of length or volume change of a material, and are only suitable as display instrument. The temperature sensors from Lenord + Bauer are suitable for a measurement range from -40 °C to +250 °C. A thin stainless steel tube protects the electronics from dirt, humidity and corrosion, allowing the sensors to meet the requirements of protection class IP 68. The sensors are in compliance with fire protection standards DIN5510 as well as NFF16-101, and are type-tested according to EN50155. They are mainly used for temperature monitoring in motor windings and on wheel sets of rail vehicles. The measuring system is generally also suitable for various other heavy-duty applications.

Special designs available as customised product version

A major advantage of Lenord + Bauer temperature sensors is the possibility to individually tailor them to meet customer requirements. Cable types, protective sleeves, flange shape, connections, and length of sensor tube can be individually adapted to customer's installation situation.
