Increased reliability through monitoring of mileage and temperature threshold

With its odometer GEL 2510, Lenord + Bauer has developed a simple and cost-efficient solution for the mileage acquisition of goods and tank wagons. The device is unobtrusively installed on the cover of the wheel set bearings and performs contactless measurement of the number of axle rotations. Another advantage is the integrated temperature threshold monitoring which serves as indicator for technical defects on the wheel set, and thus significantly increases reliability.

Since not all goods wagons have an independent power supply, the energy required is generated by means of induction from the rotary motion of the axle. By eliminating temperature-sensitive batteries, in combination with a contactless measuring system, the service life of the device is virtually unlimited!

Certified for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

The odometers from Lenord + Bauer are certified according to ATEX (EX) II 2G Eex ib IIB T4, which makes them suitable for use in even potentially explosive atmospheres such as refineries. They are in accordance with standards EN 50155, IEC 61373 Category 3 and EN 50121-3-2. 

Freely programmable ratings

Ratings such as wheel set and wagon numbers are freely programmable for each counter; this ensures that the acquired data can clearly be assigned to the individual vehicles. The wheel set diameter can be individually set, allowing precise readjustment according to wear, or after wheel reprofiling.

Simple data transmission without connection costs

The acquired data is read via RFIDand can be transmitted to an ERP or maintenance program via the USB port of the reader.

In contrast to GPRS or GSM systems, no connection costs are incurred when data is read via RFID. The recorded data is used for cost-optimised planning of maintenance intervals, since wear parts can be replaced depending on mileage. For leased vehicles, the data can serve as basis for accurate invoicing of the mileage.
